One question that we get asked quite often by customers is

What would you recommend for __?

The blank is filled in by all sorts of different things – acne, eczema, dry skin, oily skin, face soap, itchy dogs, fleas, etc.

For every person that asks a question, we can assume that there are many more that think the same question, but don’t ask it out loud….this post is for you!  Here are our recommendations for 7 of the most common questions we get asked and why they work.

  • What would you recommend for acne?

Glynne’s Soaps makes four soaps that can reduce acne.  The best one is Misty Mountain, made with Eucalyptus and Tea Tree oils. Tea Tree oil is antibacterial and antifungal, so it will clear up those breakouts.  Because it’s all natural, it’s very gentle on your skin as well.  Another soap that works well to clear acne is Rain.  Both the Lemongrass and Bergamot essential oils will reduce breakouts.  Our California Cool soap is made with cucumber and lime essential oil.  Both of these natural ingredients have astringent properties and will clean your face without being harsh on the skin.  Lastly, our latest soap – Eczema & Psoriasis Soap – made with Neem oil can clean your skin and prevent acne.

  • What would you recommend for eczema?

Our new Eczema & Psoriasis soap, made with Neem oil is perfect for people with eczema and psoriasis.  The Neem oil has antibacterial, antifungal and anti inflammatory properties.  It’s strong enough to fight these skin conditions, but very safe for your skin.

  • What would you recommend for oily skin?

Oily skin needs a soap that will cleanse, without causing dryness.  Soaps made with the following essential oils will do just that; Tea Tree, Lavender, Lemongrass, Bergamot and Patchouli.  Try our Misty Mountain, Perfect Peace, Rain or Hipp”E” soaps, each with their unique scents but giving the same result.  They will combat your oily skin without doing damage.

  • What would you recommend for dry skin?

Dry skin needs the same basic treatment as oily skin, just in reverse.  It needs a soap that will moisturize without leaving skin feeling oily or greasy.

California Cool with cucumber and lime, Frankincense & Myrrh, or any of the Simply Olive Oil soaps are great moisturizing soaps.

  • What would you recommend as a face soap?

The astringent properties of both cucumber and lime makes California Cool the perfect face soap.  Although any of our soaps, because they are made with only natural ingredients will leave your face feeling clean and soft.

  • What would you recommend for itchy dogs?

Roxy’s Soap made with Neem oil is perfect for dogs with itchy skin.  It is the natural treatment for mange and it’s antibacterial and antifungal properties make it the perfect choice for dogs with itchy inflamed skin.  Coalman’s Soap, made with lavender essential oil and crushed oatmeal is also good to treat dry itchy skin

  • What would you recommend as a flea treatment?

If you have been following us long enough, you have seen the story of how we got started in the soap business.  Our dog Franklyn was killed by the harmful pesticides in chemical flea treatments.  You can read the whole story here.  Because of this, I used my Chemistry knowledge to create a soap that will combat fleas, and we named it after Franklyn.  Made with Eucalyptus and Tea Tree essential oils, Franklyn’s soap will kill fleas.  We also have developed a three step process that will keep your dog from getting future fleas.  You can read about this process here and purchase all the materials needs to get rid of fleas.

These are some of the most frequently asked questions we get.  Hopefully, this post has helped answer some of your questions.  You can order any of these soaps on our website, or find us at the Carolina Beach Farmer’s Market on Saturday and the Poplar Grove Farmer’s Market on Wednesday.
